Norwood Green Community Alert – Vehicle Thefts

Good morning residents of Norwood Green,

We would like to make residents aware of a recent increase in thefts of motor vehicles within Norwood Green, particularly involving Mercedes vehicles.

Recent incidents:

Monday 11th May at approx. 02:45AM – Melbury Avenue
A Mercedes B Class was stolen.
➤ Two male suspects were seen in the area at the time.

Wednesday 13th May at approx. 03:45AM
➤ Two males dressed in black and wearing face coverings attempted to steal another Mercedes.
➤ The attempt was unsuccessful. (This incident is in the process of being formally recorded.)

These incidents are occurring in the early hours of the morning and appear to involve organised offenders targeting specific vehicles.

Crime Prevention Advice

Please take a moment to review the following precautions:

✅ Ensure vehicles are locked and secure, even when parked on driveways

✅ Keep keys (including keyless fobs) away from doors/windows and ideally in a Faraday pouch

✅ Install CCTV, doorbell cameras, or motion lighting where possible

✅ Consider using steering locks or additional vehicle security devices

✅ Report any suspicious activity immediately
